Carnival Workshop: Introduction to ACTING FOR CAMERA for Children and Teens

This workshop is an experience suitable for children and teens (9 – 18) who dream to learn acting techniques and want to explore them on camera. We will do exercises that will teach you how to express yourself on camera as a professional actor. All the scenes (scripted or improvised) will be filmed as part of the process and showcased at our closing event.

About Mentors:
ARANTXA HURTADO
Since finishing her film studies in London, UK, Arantxa has worked on several international feature films, documentaries and TV series. Born in Spain, raised in Luxembourg and studied in the UK, Arantxa moved to Sweden on a bicycle trip from Spain in 2008, freelancing as a filmmaker and photographer for the next consecutive 13 years. In 2019 she founded the film collective Sprouting Pictures where she has produced, directed, edited several short-films and won awards at an international level. Her main passion is working with actors. Her experience as a camera operator, editor, photographer and even PA, makes her a jack of all trades. Arantxa is currently based in Brussels (Belgium), opening up to the European market.
DESISLAVA KRSTEVA
Desi Krsteva is a professional actress, director and improviser based in Brussels, Belgium and trianed in different techniques such as Stanislavski, Meisner, Chekhov, Dance Theatre, Laban and many others. She has her own duoprov – “The Sudden Knot” and a troup called “Loophole Improv”.
She is an acting/improv trainer and performer for Impro Brussels, Queen City Comedy (North Carolina), Highwire Improv (Baltimore), The Bridge Theatre (Brussels), Brussels Shakespeare Society and BeArt Brussels. In the past years she has been successfully working with Cultural association BeArt on filming short movies.
Desi never stops learning from other professionals and developing her onstage and offstage skills. Her new passions are piano and singing.
