URŠA – flute

Urša, born in december 1994 in Ljubjana (Slovenia) took up the flute at the age of seven, at the local music school in Izola. Only a few years later she was awarded with the “Most promising young musician” title, and continued her studies at Koper’s Music and Arts Gimnasium (studying with mag. Alenka Zupan), and later at the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatorium of Music in Trieste, Italy (studying with prof. Luisa Sello), where she successfully concluded her masters degree. During the studies Urša participated in many masterclasses with world renowed flutists such as Bruno Canino, Michael Schmidt, Susan Hoeppner, Giampaolo Pretto, Janos Balint, Laura Levai Aksin, Silvia Careddu, Guo Liang Han and many others; as well as played concerts in many chamber groups – nowadays most actively with a flute organic called ‘Le Agane’, with which she performed also in China, at the 2019 CFA Flute festival in Quingdao. In the years that followed she also broadened her knowledge in pedagogic and andragogic studies and is currently working as a flute teacher.

Marcello is an eclectic and versatile artist. He combines classical tradition with innovative and interdisciplinary projects, exploring new interpretative perspectives and fostering dialogue between music, research, and social engagement.
Always sensitive to the social value of music, Marcello is actively engaged in educational projects and human rights initiatives. From 2017 to 2021, he collaborated with the non-profit organization Accademia dell’Orchestra Sinfonica dei Quartieri Spagnoli, introducing children
and teenagers to music, many of whom later pursued studies in conservatories across Campania.
He is currently a student in the Baroque flute and Historically Informed Performance class of Anna Besson at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussels.

José is a Spanish guitarist based in Brussels, who is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Jazz Guitar at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel with Professor Nelson Veras and combines his studies and musical activity with his work as a teacher. Having as main goal to be a versatile musician, he also developed a strong background in different musical styles such as rock, pop, fusion and contemporary music among others.

During his classes, he not only pursues technique and sound on the instrument, but also to investigate aspects such as music theory, harmony, improvisation, versatility, repertoire and understanding of different styles.

In his approach it is also important to help develop the musical styles in which the student is interested, so any style is welcome to get to work.

About the mentor:

Sara has a strong background in jazz and contemporary music, having started her musical journey at a young age with piano and singing. She holds degrees in Jazz Singing and Jazz Composition, both with honors. As a versatile musician, she leads and participates in various projects, from duos to big bands, and is experienced in singing, composition, and improvisation. Sara is an enthusiastic teacher with international experience, currently teaching vocal improvisation at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, and has performed in renowned venues across Italy and abroad.

About the lessons:

Sara’s singing lessons are designed to help each student express themselves to the fullest, accompanying them in the process of discovering their own voice.

Florie is a classically trained singer who completed her Master’s degree in Voice at IMEP (Namur) in 2017. Since then, she has participated in various young artist programs across Europe and has benefited from the guidance of renowned vocal teachers through numerous masterclasses.

For the past three years, Florie has been teaching voice to teenagers and adults—a role she deeply enjoys. Her teaching approach combines vocal technique with movement, drawing on her recent training in the Michael Chekhov acting technique. This method helps free the body through simple intentions and gestures, supporting more expressive and natural singing.

Florie is passionate about guiding students to explore their own voices and reach their full potential while discovering the joy of singing freely. In addition to her teaching, she works part-time at La Monnaie opera house (in the MM Schools department), where she leads workshops and interactive sessions introducing children and teenagers to opera and singing.

Tina, born in Slovenia, began violin studies at age 9 and later explored jazz violin with Max Grosch.
She earned her bachelor’s in performance and pedagogy, and completed a master’s at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in 2015.
Her musical interests span classical, jazz, and folk traditions.
She has performed with orchestras across Europe, including soloist roles in Austria and Paris.
Festival appearances include Festival Lent, Odysseia, and EuropArt.
In 2022, she toured Europe with Symphony Orchestra Flanders for Our Planet and Morricone concerts.
Tina founded Nox-Art Music School in Brussels in 2016.
In 2019, she launched the Cultural Creative Corner, a multidisciplinary arts hub.
The center now hosts over 120 students in music and arts.
Since 2020, she has also taught violin at the British School of Brussels.

AKIKO – violin / viola

Born in Tokyo, Japan. Akiko is Belgium-based violinist and violist working in early, classical and contemporary music. She specializes in historical informed performance with period instruments, especially from early classical to late romantic repertoire. Since 2015, she has joined the Jeune Orchestre de l’Abbaye aux Dames de Saintes in France, and has played under the direction of numerous conductors and soloists especially Amandine Beyer, William Christie, Laurence Equilbey, Philippe Herreweghe and Hervé Niquet.
In the contemporary music scene, she is an active musician playing with several ensembles as the Erämaa Trio and the Ensemble 21. In 2018, she joined the ICTUS Ensemble as an extra violinist for the creation of opera “Der verschwundene Hochzeiter” by Klaus Lang. Always passionate about playing the new composition for solo instrument and chamber music ensemble, working and cleating with composers their own pieces. She gave the first performance of « Missy Vaëliz » for viola solo by Jean-Marie Rens at the Festival LOOP (Brussels, Belgium) in 2017. She is one of the founding members of the Erämaa Trio (specialized in 20th century and contemporary music for violin / viola, clarinets and piano / electronics) who won the first prize in the Léopold Bellan International Competition (Paris, France) in 2017. She studied violin with Shizuko Ishii at the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music (Japan) and with Véronique Bogaerts at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles (Belgium). She also specializes in baroque violin with Alessandro Moccia and modern viola with Paul De Clerck at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Gent and Brussel.

Dawid is a Polish classical pianist based in Brussels, where he continues his piano studies at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles under the guidance of Valentina Igoshina and Thomas Paule. As both a concert pianist and chamber musician, he has performed in numerous productions across Europe, including festivals such as the Andorra Sax Fest and the Stockholm Chamber Music Academy Festival. Since 2020, he has been a member of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic.

Driven by a constant desire to grow, Dawid actively takes part in international music masterclasses. In his teaching, he adopts an individual approach for each student, focusing on their unique potential. For him, the most important aspect of teaching is revealing the beauty and many shades of music.
